Any personal data collected through these websites (located in France) will be treated as confidential in line with the principles of the French Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL) and European Union (EU) rules and requirements for user privacy.

Cookies (small text files) are designed to allow the website to recognise its users and their preferences on subsequent visits, or to authorise other designated websites to recognise these users for a particular purpose. Information collected by cookies is not personally identifiable.

These websites log the visitor’s IP address and session information such as the duration of the visit and the type of browser used. This is recognised by the web server and is only used for system administration and to provide statistics which we use to evaluate use of the site.

Visitors contacting, following, subscribing and interacting with these websites and/or their owner do so at their own discretion and provide any such personal details requested at their own risk. As well as alerting you to new blog posts, pages and comments, these websites and their owner also use any information submitted to provide you with further information about the products/services their owner offers or to assist you in answering any questions, comments or queries you may have submitted.

Subscription to these websites is through a ‘double opt-in process’ similar to that described below for the newsletter. This means that after providing your personal details (name and email address), you will receive an email asking you to confirm that you wanted to subscribe. You will only be included as a subscriber to these websites if you confirm by clicking the link and generating a return email that this is what you want to do. This service is provided by Feedburner. Visitors’ and subscribers’ information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use, as detailed in the CNIL and European Union regulations detailed above. An ‘Unsubscribe’ link is at the bottom of each blogpost notification email.

Email Newsletter
These websites operate an email newsletter programme currently managed by MailChimp and is used to inform subscribers about news, information and products/services supplied by the owner of these websites. Users can subscribe to the email newsletter here through an online automated process should they wish to do so, but do so at their own volition and discretion.

Subscriptions are taken in compliance with the French CNIL and the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). All personal details relating to subscriptions are held securely and in accordance with those regulations. Subscribers may un-subscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter.

Newsletter subscription process 
Subscription is through a ‘double opt-in process’, whether direct from these websites or from a book marketing promotion. This means that after providing your personal details (name and email address), you will receive an email asking you to confirm that you wanted to subscribe. You will only be included as a subscriber to a list if you confirm by clicking the link and generating a return email that this is what you want to do.

Subscriber activity is tracked and stored in a database for future analysis and evaluation. This information is used to refine future email campaigns and supply visitors with more relevant content based around their activity.
